rules/application [16 Jun 2008|07:16pm] welcome to assess! i know by now nearly everyone is sick of jumping from comm to comm and finding that you don't fit in or that the comm dies off within weeks of it opening, which is why we are here. we're not going to sit here and say that assess is completely different to every other comm out there, because that would be unrealistic of us. basically, we the mods just want somewhere where people can come and feel like they are wanted and appreciated as writers and rpers, as well as have fun! we're aware that every comm these days all say the same thing, but we are going to fight hard to make this comm last. by now, i'm sure everyone is aware of the rules of rp and how everything goes down, and i really don't think we need to give you a great big long list of do's and don'ts, so we'll just stick to the bullet points. • keep ic and ooc seperate; this is pretty self explanatory and i'm pretty sure every comm's golden rule. keep your grudges where they belong, people! • journals and sn's; should revolve around your character. journal names should only use your character's name, and keep underscores and excess letters and numbers to a minimum. you guys have free reign with your aim sn's, so long as part or all of your character's name is in there, and x's and numbers are avoided if possible. • the update limit is 3 weeks; we feel that this is more than enough time for you to be able to come up with a paragraph or two at least! every wednesday night a list will be posted in commencement of people who are overdue for an update. if you're on this list, you'll have until saturday night to update. if you haven't done so by then, you'll be up for override. One place holder is allowed between entries. However once a place holder has been made, you have 48 hours to have an update posted. • please make sure you intro within three days; if we mods haven't seen your character's intro posted in commencement within three days of you joining, you will forfeit your role and lose your place in the comm. • examples or first entries are both fine; we honestly don't mind which you give us, but please let it be noted that as we are not first come first serve, if your app is challenged we will require both from you! only two challenges per character, please! • unknown faces; for now, we aren't going to let in any unknown faces. by that, we mean people that are not instantly recognisable to at least three other people, so, scene queens and to a lesser extent brothers and sisters of celebrities are okay, but miley's best friend's dog's groomer definitely is not. • slash/marriage/pregnancy/etc; slash is a-okay with us, we don't want you to feel as though you can't bring it here! we understand that characters do get married from time to time, but we would prefer it though if you guys didn't get engaged and then married within a month of knowing one another. we know that this is rp and that it's all fake, but we'd still like a little realism here! pregnancies should be carried out the full nine months, miscarriages, drug use, etc. etc. should be played out at your own discretion. we're okay with most things so long as you do your research and are smart about it, but if in doubt just ask us! • most of all, have fun!that's why we're here, after all!
